Weigh Belt
Principle and Operation
There are three model ranges of Rospen
Industries weigh belts, designed to meter a wide range of materials
across many industries, from dusty, toxic powders, friable products
such as crisps and cauliflower florets through to trace vitamins.
The principle of operation shows slight but significant variations
and the outline specifications are listed below:
Enclosed Weigh Belt
Consists
of a short variable speed belt, a section of which is supported
by a load cell mounted weigh bar. The product is gravity fed onto
the belt from the machine storage hopper and during travel creates
a signal from the weigh section of the belt directly proportional
to the weight of product passing over it. This information is
transmitted to the PLC and it provides a failsafe, positive indication
of material flow rate change.
- Totally enclosed giving dust tight control of toxic or hazardous
materials.
Open Type & Miniature Weigh Belt
These models consist of a weigh frame and a fixed speed belt
feeder, which is totally weighed. The weight
of the unit is tared to zero, such that only product passing over
the belt is weighed. The product weight signal is measured
by the PLC and the resultant correction signal is used to speed
up or slow down a pre conditioning, Metering Screw feeder, to
bring the weight of product on the belt back to the pre-set rate.
- Open type provides visual aspect of production lines.
Miniature unit: 50mm wide with output range as low as 10 g/min
to 800 g/min.
The Rospen Industries, Weigh Belts, are continuously improved and
designed to match the requirements of customers worldwide. And,
as with all Rospen equipment, for over 27 years customers have been
listened to and worked with as all the product designs continue
to develop to meet industry and legislative demands. This has resulted
in a number of special features:
