Loss
In Weight Feeders
Liquid Feeder
Principle and Operation
Whether liquids or powders the general principle of Rospen
Industries Loss in Weight feed system is to accurately weigh
and control the output of variable products either, continuously
or as a batch. As the name suggests, the Loss in Weight concept
is primarily based around the application of a weigh system
allied to PLC control, the specification for a liquid feeder
system is shown below.
Liquid Feeder
Using
exactly the same principle as described for powders, liquids can
also be weighed to an accuracy + or 0.5% where a loss in
weight liquids vessel is mounted on a Rospen low profile loss in
weight platform. By means of flexible pipes the vessel is connected
to a header tank, comprising dump valve and variable speed discharge
pump. The loss in liquid weight per unit of time is measured by
the microprocessor and the pump speed modulated to hold the liquid
loss- in-weight and thus output constant.
The system eradicates the need for flowmeters and also compensates
for:
- Varying densities
- Temperature change
- Viscosity variations
- Pressure change
Rospen Standard Weigh Platform
The standard Rospen weigh unit, manufactured at
the Stonehouse factory is of a robust design and provides for a
maintenance free operation. For
